JMTP is committed to offering the young students in New York City’s under-resourced communities the same low-ratio, high-quality learning experiences that traditional students receive in the John McEnroe Tennis Academy. Consistent with our belief in individualized student learning, JMTP community programs utilize a 6:1 student to coach ratio. Here’s a look at the impact of JMTP’s Community Program, since our founding in 2012:*

  • 5,851 public and charter school students reached through dynamic community programs

  • Over 13,000 hours of free group tennis instruction

  • Over $1.3 M invested in young players’ talents, through community programs

  • Free tennis lessons for community children participating in the Randall’s Island Park Alliance summer camp

*from 2012 to July 2019

“I like the coaches and the teams we go with. Tennis is fun because the balls are easy to throw and they have small rackets for kids. Thank you for helping me play tennis.”

Liam C., 1st Grade, Our Lady Queen of Angels

"The tennis instructors are very enthusiastic when teaching the students. The activities are well planned and organized. The instructors show an interest not only in the students' tennis instruction but also their emotional needs. The students have a great time and look forward to coming here on Fridays. For most of the students this is their only exposure to this type of activity and organized play. Thank you for giving them this opportunity."
